We went to Desert Star last night to see Home School Musical. It was so funny! The play tells the story of "The Homers" (homeschoolers) Zac Teflon, Amanda Hugginkiss, LaVelco Edwards, Palmyra Kirkland and Linoleum Dynamite and their fight to save homeschooling after Senator Crackpotter tries to outlaw it for lack of emphasis on the arts. The only solution is of course to put on a Home School Musical. Laughs ensue as Sen. Crackpotter lures Zac to help him by offering to get him on the Hunter High ping pong team. In the end all is solved when Zac see's the light and "chooses the right".
Some of my favorites actor's were there last night. The guy that played Zac was a dead ringer for Ashton Kucher and the kid who played Lineolum was probably the best I've ever seen.
I love Desert Star's humor. I love that they make fun of Utah and Mormon's. The also had a nice dig at the BCS and a few Twilight references! The fam seemed to have fun. It was, of course, a trial to get everyone there, but eventually they saw the light and gave in. I can't wait for the next play "American Fork Idol".
