8th grade Awards and Honor Roll

I'm so proud of Carter! He was awarded the 8th grade award for achievement in Social Studies and also made Honor Roll this quarter. WOOHOO! As you can tell by the picture he was thrilled!

We have struggled this year at school to get him to understand the importance of doing his work and actually turning it in. After a meeting with his counselor we were able to move him to a different algebra class. I think that is what has made the difference. Thank goodness that Mr. Spears listened to me, although I had to push quite a bit. Also his science teacher, Mr. Bliss took a special interest in Carter and made sure that he knew that he could do better and after 1st quarter moved him back to ALPS science. If it wasn't for those two I don't know how we would have survived this year. I'm hoping that we have figured this out and now Carter can excel in 9th grade.

Yes, his hair is blue, he looks homeless and he can't stand having his picture taken with mom.

Flight of the Conchords

Randy and I went to see FOTC on Sunday night at Abravanel Hall in SLC. Needless to say, it was so much stinkin fun! Bret and Jermaine have got to be the funniest kiwi's on the planet. They sang all the stuff we knew and some we had never heard before. I haven't laughed that hard in forever!

If you ever get a chance to see them live, you must do it!

Blue Hair!

Carter has been DYEING to get his hair dyed blue for some time now. I tried it at home with little success. We finally found a new gal that has managed to do the impossible....she made Carter happy! The bad news is that somehow he managed to not get a hair cut in the process.
