My baby is a teenager! Today is Carter's 13th birthday. He's a good kid and we love him so much. It seems like yesterday that he was a new baby. I'm so glad he can't remember all the outfits I made him wear as a baby.

When he was little we would go see the "oh's" (cow's to you and I) everyday. We would drive through the country (Magna) and stop to see a deer farm and the horses. He would love to ride around in the car. He also loved Little Gym. We went once a week. He would run and play with the balls. But most of all he loved to hang from the monkey bar.

His best friend growing up was our beloved Fozzie. He was a very overweight, half-blind, totally deaf cocker spaniel that let Carter do just about everything to him with no complaints. Fozzie taught Carter how to escape to the backyard via the dog door. He would drag that poor dog around on a leash for hours. We were so sad years ago when we had to put him to sleep. Carter was heartbroken. We still have Foz on the piano in a box, and Carter still keeps pictures of him in his room.

Nowadays, Carter is very much a teenager. He sleeps late. Can have an attitude. Thinks he doesn't need rules or guidance. He loves Greenday, playing the guitar, trumpet, piano and, of course, video games. He will start 8th grade this year. He is looking forward to being in the jazz band and learning to speak French. He's already as tall as me and soon will tower over me.

I'm bracing myself because in 3 years my baby will drive! HELP!!!!!!!!!

Lady A Concert

Hola! I just got home from the Lady Antebellum concert in Ogden. Julee had asked me go a while back, and I said sure (not really knowing the group very well.) All I can say is I'm so glad I went. It was a great show, and the crowd was just as entertaining!

I got stuck at work, which really chapped my hide, and wasn't able to head home to change or get my camera. Julee met Angelise and I at the pelvic palace and we headed to Ogden. Somehow I ended up driving, which totally makes sense with my great sense of direction. LOL After a gossip-filled dinner at Roosters we headed over to the venue. O'towns ampitheatre is a small outdoor (obviously) venue. There main problem seems to be the most people in Ogden don't know how to find the proper seats. A bigger issue is the ushers decision to just let people sit where ever they wanted.

Charlie Jenkins opened the show. For those in the know, he was on Nashville Star this year and was the first person voted off. His bass player was killer. He had some moves. ROFL!

Lady A was fun and upbeat. They did a few cover songs, which helped since I really only know there one song "Love don't live here anymore". The blond lead singer and the gal look like they are an item to me. Who knows? Julee said the dark haired guy must have started the band and that's the only way he got in. Come to find out Julee was right. We were crackin' up! You can check Lady A out at http://www.myspace.com/ladyantebellum

The concert had the usual array of crazies. The best of the night was the older lady in the white see through blouse with a lovely white Levi vest. Her main issue was her undies showing over the top of her pants through her shirt. And we aren't talking a peek a boo. It was a full inch at times. Also I should mention the rodeo queen who obviously doesn't care about the ozone layer after she used a good can and a half of aqua net on her stiff locks.

It was a great night with the gals. Julee even has an extra AI ticket...I may have to join her for some David Cook!!!!!

I'm totally brilliant!

I had a great idea to update look of my wonderful blog. As you can see I managed to totally screw it up! I have no idea how to get back any of my old stuff. I guess it's a work in progress...right?

The price of Gas

So I have made the concious decision to fill up the Suburban when it is half full (as to not cause any permanent heart damage). I filled up a half tank for $90.00!!!!!!! I'm moving to Saudi Arabia. I'm sure the degradation of women if much less painful than the price of regular unleaded!

New Stadium

We headed over to the new Real Salt Lake soccer stadium the other night. It looks great. We went on a tour and picked our seats for the next season. We will be in the south end zone with the guys who help Randy with his soccer blog. The stadium looks so big from the outside, but it seems small once you get inside. Our seats are circled below.
Hopefully we can be in the new stadium for the October 9th game. They are hoping to get 2 games in this season and then a huge grand opening at the beginning of next season. The good news is that season ticket holders will get advanced access to any concerts held at the stadium. YEAH ME!
Im off to call Nikky Kidman and see if Keith can come out to play for a night next summer.

Sad News

I was totally bummed when Rhonda called from Nashville during CMA Fest. Blue County announced their plans to "pursue other opportunities" during their fan club party. They have 2 dates left to play and then they are basically going their seperate ways for a while to see what happens.

I can honestly say that I hate the music business sometimes. They overlook some amazingly talented people and only pay attention to the money makers. The downfall of Blue County was the fact that they were on the same label as Rascal Flatts. Curb records put no money or backing behind BC because they only paid attention to RF. Sucks Rocks! Same with Katrina Elam. Uni South has totally overlooked her and wont let her out of her contract. The bad news is that Uni South has no one decent on their label, so they have no excuse!

I could go on and on about different acts. It's really heartbreaking to see some amazing guys go their seperate ways. I have loved them since Rhonda introduced us in 2005. Hopefully they can take a break and the future will bring them back together, bigger and better.

What a Weekend!

Man did this weekend suck rocks big time! I had to work 12 hours on Saturday and 10 on Sunday. Both days were ridiculously busy. I was so busy on Sunday that I didn't even get to call my dad for fathers day.

I was totally relaxed after our vacay to Cancun and then went back to work and it sucked every ounce of relaxation outta me. Sometimes I wonder how I survive there anymore?

Heres a belated Happy Fathers Day to my dad. I love him so much!

Cancun Update

Hola from Mexico! We are having a great time. The resort is beautiful. Our room is on the top floor. We have an amazing view of the beach from our balcony.

We spent the day at xcaret yesterday. I was told that this was the place to go while in Cancun. Xcaret is an ecological park. They have a beach and snorkeling inlet. It is very pretty, but after I was terrified by a few iguanas and lizards walking right in front of my feet, I was ready to go home. We did enjoy the underground river that you float thru and snorkel. It was stormy and rainy and after all the lizards and such we went home early. I did have nightmares about an iguana biting my leg half off!

Today we spent the day at the pool. We had a cabana right by the pool with a view of the ocean. It´s by far my favorite place on earth. We found a new drink...Rivera Mayas. I have no idea whats in them, but we love them.

Tomorrow we are going to Isla Mujeres. Evidentally we drive a golf cart around the island and snorkel and stuff. We need to buy the kids some souvenirs there. Grandma says they are being so good. We really miss them. They would love it here!

Talk to y'all soon! Hasta

Birthday Comments

Today is the day! It's our birthday and I'll cry if I want too. LOL. The twins are 11 today. I can't beleive it's been 11 long, vicious years. I jokingly told Randy last night that they made me miserable when I was preggers with them and times hadn't changed much.

Nothing exciting planned for today. We went to Tepanyaki last night for our b-day dinner. Tonight we have our final soccer game of the season. Then Randy and I are going to break down and pack our bags for Cancun.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUGS!

Totally Bummed

For the last 3 years Nut (aka Randy) and I have travelled to Nashville for the CMA music festival. It's always such a great week. We get to see our friends, listen to great music and wander around Nashville, my favorite city.

This year the line up wasn't as great as we had hoped and we made the decision to do something different instead. It's not that I don't want to go to Cancun, it's just that I will totally miss all the fun we have as a group in Nashvegas. No Late nights/early mornings (depends on how you look at it). No pancake pantry. No Blue Country fan club party. No Keith Urban. Most importantly, No Rhonda, Linda or Heather. Shot thru the heart!

Rhonda has already texted my saying she took a picture of the pita pit. Sadness ensues. The pita pit is a long, drawn out story that I will explain someday. Here are some picture from last year. At least I won't catch Tabaculosis this year. It about killed my last year!
